BB11 Mingle Mixx AKA Case Turner bio from website:

www.minglemixx.com

It all started out in a little town called Lakeland, Florida. Casey T., the student from Lake Gibson HS, was the skinny kid who "felt" the music. He was always the kid who would dance at the talent shows, go to the teen clubs and rock the newest steps, and tape record Kenny K on Saturday nights. He parlayed an All-County selection in basketball to a scholarship at Polk Community College in Winter Haven, FL., where he broadened his horizons by teaming up with cats from all over the state, including Rapmaster G from Clearwater, who showed him his first LIVE scratch ("get busy ya'll" off the Pee Wee Herman, by Joeski Love). He followed a successful career in JuCo with a full ride to Greensboro College in Greensboro, NC. It was there that he began to realize that Florida's music scene was not "all there was". The music that trickled down from New York and Washington, DC to Cackalack made him realize that there was more to rap than just the Beasties, RUN-D, and Luke. The writing was on the wall. He graduated from GC in 1991 and moved to Clearwater with the founding members of De'Monae, MC Dinero and DJ Stupid Money. The rest, as they say, is history.

DJ Mingle Mixx started out as a dancer (1991) for a Bay area rap group known as De'Monae , "Of Money". Though they didn't make a lot of money, they did rock shows all over the tri-city area of Tampa/Clearwater/St Pete, as headliners, opening acts, and talent show winners. Copies of "Bass for your Face", their debut album, can still be found in circulation in some old tape decks. The group spent endless hours in the studio creating the never-released "2 Phat 2 Drive", an underground classic (available on this site).

Back then Mingle was known as TS --The $hit-- and soon evolved into the group's hype man, Flavor Flav being his hype man idol. After a few years TS changed his name to Mingle Mixx: Mingle cause he was single, and of course, he loved to mix. He added emcee to his list of talents in the mid-90's, rapping on albums by Boyz wit the Bass and T-Quest World Famous.

De'Monae disbanded about that same time (1996) and Mingle began his DJ career at Harpoon Louie's in Ybor City and Kasey's Kove on Fowler Ave. Anybody who was around at that time will never forget those infamous Wednesday nights at The Kove with the USF basketball team and over 500 other college party animals every week.

He has continued to DJ, working 4 or 5 nights a week ever since, with his styles and musical interests morphing with the times. Though a die-hard hip hop head, he does play whatever makes the crowd bounce: old soul, funk, 80's, NY hip hop, West Coast heat, top 40, booty (which WILL make a comeback), Dirty South, Midwest Swang.. how you want it?! Mixx will keep the club jumpin' til last call.
